Here, I would like to propose a detailed suggestion for a new “Legendary Core” system, designed to thoroughly address the issue of mismatched rewards versus effort in late-game boss challenges and to provide players with limitless character build possibilities.I. Proposal Core: The Legendary Core System
Concept:
Legendary Cores are ultimate rewards that have a chance to drop after defeating powerful bosses in the world (the stronger the boss, the higher the drop rate—e.g., Swamp Golem has a 100% drop rate). They are equippable, permanent enhancements that can be installed on weapons and apply globally to all weapons of the same type.
II. Draft Design of Core Effects
I have designed unique cores for each boss, ensuring their effect strength perfectly matches the challenge difficulty:
1. Swamp Golem
· Core Name: [Dominance Core]
· Global Effect: Executes enemies instantly when their health drops below 20% upon weapon attack.
2. Phoenix
· Core Name: [Ember Core]
· Global Effect: Each attack has a 10% chance to ignite enemies, dealing damage equal to 5% of their maximum health.
3. Dragon Lord
· Core Name: [Dragon Soul Core]
· Global Effect: Attacks have a 10% chance to trigger “Triple Dragon Absorption,” manifesting as ice, fire, and lightning dragon illusions circling the enemy for 2 seconds, dealing 200 damage per second.
4. Mati
· Core Name: [Intimidation Core]
· Global Effect: Any weapon attack against enemies with health above 70% has a 10% chance to fear them, causing them to flee in panic for 2-3 seconds. Attacks against enemies with health below 30% inflict vulnerability, increasing all damage taken by 25%.
5. Dark Boss
· Core Name: [Corruption Core]
· Global Effect: Increases weapon damage by 10%, and attacks have a 1% chance to corrupt enemies, reducing their health by 90%.
6. Shiva
· Core Name: [Toxic Core]
· Global Effect: Converts a portion of damage dealt with the weapon into health for the player (lifesteal).
7. Fire Dragon
· Core Name: [Inferno Core]
· Global Effect: Attacks with any weapon have a 15% chance to ignite the ground, creating a flaming area that burns for 2 seconds, dealing 50 fire damage per second to enemies within.
8. Ice Dragon
· Core Name: [Permafrost Core]
· Global Effect: Attacks with any weapon have a 15% chance to freeze enemies for 2 seconds. Frozen enemies have their attack and movement speed reduced by 30%.
9. Aragog
· Core Name: [Web Core]
· Global Effect: Attacks with any weapon have a 20% chance to shoot a web that immobilizes enemies for 3 seconds and deals 50 toxin damage per second.
10. Hydra
· Core Name: [Swamp Core]
· Global Effect: Attacks have a 10% chance to summon a small Hydra that attacks enemies, dealing 30 damage per attack. The Hydra disappears after attacking twice.
11. Ashkore
· Core Name: [Thunder Core]
· Global Effect: Weapon attacks have a 10% chance to summon a lightning chain, dealing lightning damage equal to twice the player’s attack power.
III. Significant Benefits of This System
1. Ultimate Pursuit: Provides undeniable and commensurate powerful rewards for defeating top-tier bosses, making challenges highly motivating.
2. Build Diversity: Players can collect and combine different cores, enabling countless playstyles such as “execution builds,” “lifesteal sustainability builds,” and “elemental control builds,” greatly enhancing replay value.
3. Respect for Players’ Time: Powerful effects are the best reward for players’ efforts, significantly improving game satisfaction.
Thank you for reading this lengthy suggestion. I sincerely hope you will consider this system, which could qualitatively transform the endgame content of Block Story!
