Greetings, everyone! First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you all, developers and fans alike, on the new website. The old forum was, in my opinion, an iconic and important part of the Block Story fan experience (and to some, perhaps the most important) and I am glad to see it revived. I hope it proves to be a boon for the lifecycle of this game and its community, even more so than its predecessor.

In the spirit of going back to the old roots, I would like to suggest the establishment of an archive, where old releases/versions of the game could be made accessible to the users.
Block Story is rich with history, it underwent significant changes throughout its development: mechanics were added and scrapped, some were redesigned, new functionalities were implemented, storylines were rewritten and even the world generation was remade; that’s both the “Block” and the “Story” part that experienced change. The game, as it stands today is very different from the game a lot of people first discovered and while I appreciate all the new features and effort that went into making the contemporary release, sometimes I wish to go back and experience the old world and story that I first fell in love with.

Unfortunately, while there are options to access the old versions, I find my choices to be restricted. Even with what is currently available, it is extremely difficult (or maybe even impossible) to find any of the more esoteric versions of Block Story, like the version 4 updates. To my knowledge, a lot of the game’s history, in a way, is lost media now and that saddens me. I believe Block Story in most of its stages was very charming and had a strong character. Take old terrain generation as an example. I think most would agree how a lot of the times it was frustrating to navigate and slow to traverse, but in the same sentence I think most would agree how alien, magical and otherworldly it looked. The lit up nights were something else. If possible, I would like to go back there and perhaps there are others who do as well.

On the old website, I believe there was a page where you could see a download list of (all?) the old versions, perhaps something similar could make its way to here? Whatever the medium, I would love to see a means of preserving the old content, if possible.

With that I would like to finish up, whether you agree with me or not, I thank you for reading and I wish you a good day.

Hi, tx for your post! Adding something like access to every old versions in website is in my to do list for new website.
There isn’t much better than a wide open game world in which you have essentially no limits and can alter the very landscape in which you play – that is, unless you add dragons, of course…
